Micromachined Silicon ActuatorsSilicon DynamiX patent pending cellular electrostatic actuator technology enables large output mechanical energy per chip area unmatched by any other micromachined (MEMS) actuator. Larger actuator force and displacement allow higher operating speed, mechanical robustness, and durability.
Our technology allows integration of multiple independently operated actuators with both in-plane and out-of-plane displacement and rotation on the same chip. Therefore, both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Auto-Focusing (AF) functionalities are compacted in a single chip.
Silicon DynamiX actuator chips can replace a large number of components in compact camera modules conventionally utilizing voice coil motors (VCM) for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Auto-Focusing (AF). This includes copper coils, permanent magnets, bearings, flexures, spacers, magnetic shields, etc.
